Andrew Rhee


Andrew Rhee was raised as a third-culture kid, growing up in the United States, Asia, and Europe. From an early age, Andrew found himself fascinated by the lives and stories of his peers, and meeting individuals from all walks of life. He started his filmmaking journey in college with the BYU AdLab; there, Andrew found his voice as a creative, and a passion for directing commercial film. His work has been recognized at the ANDYs, Addy’s, AICP, Telly’s, and the One Show. Most recently, Andrew won the National Student Best of Show at the 2022 Addy’s, and was one of twenty-five creatives worldwide to receive the Young Ones Portfolio Award.

In his work, Andrew gravitates toward character-driven narratives, often drawing on his multicultural background to inspire his approach. No matter the brand or story, he loves finding a human angle that can build a tangible emotional connection. Often
inspired by current events and social causes, he constantly strives to diversify the identities and experiences shown onscreen. Currently, Andrew lives in New York, where he works as a copywriter at McCann Worldgroup.

In his free time, he enjoys getting lost on the subway, reading in the park, and never eating at the same place twice.
